Locomotives

Built to 7” scale, the outline design of our steam locomotives is based on the larger 0-4-0 saddle tank engines produced by the Hunslet Engine Company of Leeds for use by quarry companies on nominal 2 feet gauge railway systems.

The engines are heavily engineered and whilst intended for private use, they may also have a commercial application. Our standard design of locomotive has been adopted in order to reduce the production time and costs as far as possible, and to facilitate easier operation and maintenance. Available options / variants include saddle tank, side tanks or 4-wheel tender; extended frame 0-6-2 wheel arrangement; open or enclosed cab; livery; sanding gear; brake system; name plates. 

The locomotive is designed to convert to 15” gauge should customers prefer this gauge.  Customers may wish to note that a narrow gauge outline diesel locomotive is under development to a similar scale.
