Track

The ’ultimate train set’ would not be complete without trackwork. Historically there have been only two choices for new railway builders: (1) do-it-yourself using separate components (rail, sleepers, rail spikes or screws, fishplates, etc.) and very heavy toil, or (2) hire in a specialist track-laying contractor.

The NG Trailway Company offers a third choice which will alleviate the customer from many of the required trackwork engineering skills, specialist tools and labour, thereby significantly shortening track-laying time.

NGT Easy-Track is a range of ready-to-lay track pieces and accessories for 12¼” gauge which arrive on site fully assembled for laying onto a prepared trackbed, bolting up to the adjacent track pieces, top ballasting and tampering. The range includes:

-   Straights & Curves

-   L/H, R/H, ‘Y’ Turnouts

-   Rail Fishplates, Bolts & Nuts

-   Turnout Levers

-   Buffer Stops

Sleepers, Rail & Fixings are available for those who wish to self-build sections of track.

NGT Easy-Track is jig-manufactured for consistency using S7, S10 or BS20M rail, pressure treated wooden sleepers and a combination of rail spikes, screws and spacers. The standard radius of our turnouts is 25 metres.  Curves and straight sections are manufactured to suit track layout requirements. Special track pieces such as diamond crossings can be built to order.
